#130 Bamboo Earrings + Cuff links

Wooden earrings are brilliant, they are aesthetically very lovely but also so lightweight that they are incredibly comfortable to wear. I have a couple of pairs & they are easily favourites.
These earrings are from Bamboo Village, any guesses what they're made from?

Isette Bamboo East Earrings Isette Bamboo Peacock Studs
Isette Bamboo West Earrings Isette Bamboo Lotus Earrings

So beautifully ornate. A bridesmaid accessory &/or gift?
The lotus pair are definitely my top pick of these & they're only $24.95!

And a pair of Bamboo Village cuff links for the boys, you know, so they don't feel left out.

#118 Wedding Art

I love these personalized vintage style posters from Alexander & Co, such a great idea! I've seen people use posters as their guest book by having a slightly larger mat & having their guests sign it & this would be a perfect choice if you wanted to do that.
Names, locations, dates, type colour & hair colour are all customised.
I also think the location options would be a lovely gift in memory of where you met, your first date, where the proposal was or perhaps even of a holiday you took together?

There are also save the date postcards & thank you cards available which would be a great option for those looking for something a little more unusual, & magnets which would make fantastic save the dates or favours.

There are a lot more designs available, I had a tough time picking which ones to post!

#115 Groomsmen Ideas

As I have mentioned before, I think groomsmen gifts can be a bit of a puzzle.
I'm not very keen on all the alcohol focused options, & there are just so many kitschy alternatives.
(What?! Wedding related kitsch!?)

I came across these the other day via love and lace blog, which is an excellent read if you have some spare relax with a cuppa time... or in between work/assignments... or maybe you need an excuse to procrastinate?
Annnyway, I think this is a great idea & these sets from Orange Fuzz on Etsy are wonderfully executed.

Basics - Shaving Kit with Beer Shaving Soap Eco Friendly Shaving Kit with Beer Shaving Soap

Pictured are a basic & an eco friendly set, both with shaving soap made from rhassoul clay & Sierra Nevada Stout Beer & lots of other yummy stuff!

My favourite part of these however, is without a doubt the cases. Each set comes in an up-cycled wooden cigar box. Uhh can anyone say genius? Loves it.

Bonus fun fact is that the price is nice too so they would also be a lovely alternative gift to socks & jocks on any occasion, heaven knows they can be tricky to buy for these men folk!

#109 Groomsmen Gifts

We had gifts for our Groomsmen custom made by Dlk Designs on Etsy (Iif you aren't already addicted to Etsy, just surrender to the awesome already yeah? It will change your life...) .

Here is a photo of one pair of the boys personalized cufflinks taken by our brilliant photographer Karalee of Angelsmith Photography

Two map fragments are mounted on to stirling silver, in this pair of Dublin & Adelaide for Mr N's brother, & preserved under a magnifying jewelery grade resin that is slightly domed.
Each of the groomsmen & Mr N, had map pieces relevant to them & their history.

I found it really hard to decide on gifts because as with anything wedding related there is a gigantic overabundance of cliche options.
I'm so glad we were able to find something that was both useful & personal... & really pretty... shh don't tell the boys!

#108 Rob Ryan

I first saw Rob Ryan's work late 2009, he works from London, England & his art includes lasercuts, ceramics, screenprints & textiles.
If I'm being quite honest, I think it's quite different to the art I am usually attracted to? Regardless I fell rather immediately head over heels.
'You are my universe. Moons circle planets and planets circle stars, stars and galaxies rotate eternally and you and I circle each other for you are my universe entirely and i will always be yours.'
'We Had Nothing, We Had Not Much, We Had Enough, We Had Everthing' P.S.Please Don't Ever Let Me Have Too Much'

”Can We? Shall We? One day very soon, let us go away together just you and me. Can We? Shall We? Call in sick one day and travel to the sea and hold hands all day. Can We? Shall We? Eat our sandwiches on the train, get drunk on fresh air and come home tired and never tell anyone.... Ever.”

'I can't forget and I never will you smiled at me and from nothing something came now the world is new to me again I will remember still you smiled at me and now I dream a dream of good.'

'Every night at the same time, I pick a star, hold it tight and think of you a thousand miles across land and sea, I feel you in my heart thinking of me.'
'These same stars and this same sky hang over both you and I, In our dreams and in my heart, they help us feel less far apart.'
'Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.'

'The key to my heart knows it will one day be found.' + 'The key to my heart has hope that is indestructible.'

And here is the gorgeous print that Mr N gave to me as a wedding present...

It's gorgeous (& huge) & I love it!

#100 Wedded!

I am officially wed.

It was an absolutely AMAZING day, & I'll take the leap, head out onto that cliche limb & say it was the best
day of my life.
I am also delighted to report that Mr N feels the same way. Which has to be a good start right?

Once again I am in the position of returning to you all after a significant stretch of silence...
I could explain that this is because I didn't want to give things away to my readers that were also to be guests.
I could also explain that there was a big part of my 'wedding brain' occupied by things that were personal & not appropriate to share in a public forum such as this.
OR I could just take some very wise advice I've been given & say:

Hey y'all!
I've been planning my super awesome wedding & have been far too busy running around like a chooken with it's head removed (yes, that reference does extend beyond my chicken party) to fill you in on all the madness... but never fear (or do?) for I am returned & ready to share my copious amounts of joy with you all!
Not to mention all the details details details....

Yep. I think I'll roll with that option.

So I'm back. I think it's impossible to share it all at once because 'it' is a lot.
Plus I need to have a little ponder on the relinquishing or anonymity in regard to photographs, oh, & perhaps consult Mr N on that also?
However I will continue to post things that I find & love in between.
I was also thinking, that perhaps if anyone was in the midst of planning insanity & had questions they would like to ask, I could do my best to answer them? If the mood so takes you, please feel free to send me an email?

So here is a little sneak peek from our personal photos - we are awaiting the professional shots most eagerly!

#84 Wedding Ring for Him

I came across this jewelers work on etsy a while ago & I must say I am quite impressed.
Jewelery by Johan features rings for women & rings for men as well as wedding sets.
I particularly like his mens range, which include more classic contemporary pieces like the first two pictured below...

And the last two, a little more unusual with inlaid wood stripes & a diamond setting, or a matte titanium finish.

But my absolute clear favourite are these unique pieces...

Aren't they just wonderful???
Mr N likes them too so I think at this stage that one of these rings is definitely the front runner for the big day & ever after!
Which one? Well that is quite another matter...
Also, another piece of eye candy from Jewelery by Johan, & in the spirit of something blue?

Embrace it, just embrace it...

Now seriously, how beautiful is this headpiece?
How beautiful are these photographs?
Also, how STUNNING is this bride?!

This post belonged to yesterdays weather...

But here it is.

And isn't it beautiful?

There's just something... it makes me melt a little.
