#163 Engagement Ring Fun

A fortune cookie proposal? Brilliant!
If you didn't want to use a real cookie you could use a silver fortune cookie hinged keepsake box such as the one pictured & have the ring inside...

or even a card holder with a ' will you marry me' fortune (or obviously a more personalised option) & be ready with ring in hand OR even one of those ridiculously gorgeous porcelain fortune cookies I featured a little while ago here...

 Single Porcelain Fortune Cookie- LOVE

That would be so incredibly cute!

These rings are nice to look at?

So are these ring boxes from stout woodworks & eskae jeweller?
That hickory box especially...

And just for fun...

Hope your week has begun wonderfully!

And, one of the cutest couples ever to have lived...
That's a whole lot of love.

There's nothing I can say that can even come close to expressing the absolute & complete perfection of these photographs.
So I won't even try.
I am so thankful for all the beauty in this world.
Thank you Clayton Austin.
Thank you Tyler + Anna.

#155 Stunning Centrepieces

There are so many photographers who's work I am completely in awe of & the girls at U.S based Simply Bloom Photography certainly rank very highly in my list of favourites.
Their photographs are seriously stunning, as are these centrepieces from the recent wedding of Geri + Zach ...

Loving the colours & mix in textures, love that it's a bit quirky & fun but still absolutely perfect & polished. Each one looks like a miniature work of art, each one is a miniature work of art!
If I could redo my own centrepieces, I  think I would want them exactly like this. Just gorgeous.

Speaking of gorgeous...

Geri + Zach used black as their accent colour, I'm lusting over Geri's fabulous shoes! I also love that the shoe shot is a little more contemporary? I much prefer this to the standard shoe photograph that so many people seem to take & it's particularly fitting for shoes such as these that break the 'bridal' norm.

And that bike?!

I have really enjoyed looking at Char Photography's blog this afternoon, photo's of such love never get old do they!
Char has captured so much beauty in her shots. I love when  photographs make you feel so honoured, honoured because you know that they are a clear little piece of insight into such heartfelt shared moments.
It is such a skill to be able to make people feel relaxed & comfortable enough, that photos like these are possible.
Gorgeous. Too bad she's based in the U.S!
I had an excellent moment of confusion when I went to look Char's 'Seniors Portraits', here i was expecting portraits of the elderly, 'what an interesting thing to specialise in!' i thought to myself. Clearly I hadn't translated my webpage from English/English to American/English. High school seniors. Quite different portraits to the ones i was picturing?

#151 Photobooth Love

It's no secret I love a photobooth, but how extra gorgeous are these shots from the wedding of Ben + Erin on One Fine Day?

Great unique backdrop & what lovely little marriage celebration snapshots.

#101 Step One - Wait

And now for a bit of waiting it would seem...
It's hardly a secret but I'm certainly not the most patient person  in the world!
Hopefully it's all worth it.
Ahhh the mystery! Can you stand it!? hehe

I've decided I haven't had enough yet...
I'm not willing to let all the delicious wedding-y knowledge in my head get shoved aside to make space for 'other' things.
You know what this means right?
No, I'm not getting divorced & no, I'm not jumping straight into planning a vow renewal for a year from now.
It means lovely ladies, & possibly gents, that I have to find someone else who will let me plan theirs.

Putting it out there...

p.s Just so you know, it is actually really hard trying to hold off publishing any more photos until we get the professional shots... so many gorgeous photos, our friends are obviously uber talented.
But still, I feel like I'm keeping secrets from you?

#95 Well Now.

If that doesn't make you want to be a bridesmaid!

Stunning.

Thanks apartment # 34 for this spectacular piece of eye candy!

I most especially love the dress second from the left...
Oh, & the one in the middle too? Yeah, her mumma made that dress... (jealousy is ugly jealousy is ugly)

More of this yummy wedding at jill thomas photography

I know I've been super absent... I've been procrastinating.
I do have lots of planning progress news though!

#69 Jonas Peterson

I feel like such a traitor writing this post, because our photographer is amazing & without a doubt one of the sweetest people you could ever meet.

But I'm having an emotional affair.

I'm sorry Karalee!

Jonas Peterson, Jonas Peterson, Jonas Peterson...

How I love your photos! Oh to spend a lifetime looking at the world as seen through your lens.

Breathtaking? I think yes. One of many let me assure you.

When reading the 'about me' section on the Jonas Peterson website, Brisbane based Jonas tells of how he became drawn to photography. He tells of his fathers career as a journalist, his mother & grandmothers love of painting. Jonas goes on to say that as a result he never wrote, he never drew.
I can't comment on the drawing aspect, but boy does this man write.

Also included under the 'about me' banner is a slideshow of photographs that you must watch. It is pure lovely.
You will very likely cry, but your life will be richer for it.

His website, while obviously as any photographers website is a way for potential clients to find him & view his work, is so so SO much more.
It is also a window into the way he sees the world, a glimpse of a beautiful family, &
I truly believe - a portrait of an absolutely amazing human being.

There is such an honesty in his work, both his photography & his writing, that it's impossible not to feel touched. Impossible not to feel compelled to share the incredible gift he so unreservedly shares.

Thank you Jonas.

#68 The Essence of a Wedding

Wow. Just wow.

You know how there's pregnancy hormones? No I'm not revealing anything, I certainly don't have any of those floating around.
But I've made a discovery.
Wedding hormones. Fact.
How else can you account for my getting sudden cases of the weepies when looking at these beautiful wedding photos by Jonas Peterson?

The wedding of Joost & Kirsty...

As I'm sure anyone who's been there will tell you, when planning a wedding it's easy to get caught up in details.
No matter the intentions you set out with, or whether you swear it won't happen to you, I have a feeling that for everyone there comes a time (at least once) when you need a reminder of what it's all about.

Not venues, nor centrepieces. Not hair styles, nor ties. Not flowers, nor favours.
It isn't about colour schemes, & no, it's not even about the dress.

It's about people. It's about a beautiful & lifelong commitment. It's about LOVE.
Of course right? Of course.
But in the middle of the madness of planning & decisions, this simple honest fact is far too easily swept aside.

This glimpse into a wedding so honest, so beautifully & perfectly simple, so focused on everything that is real & pure & right...
Well I'm humbled.

Goddess.

There is thankfully lots more photos of Joost & Kirsty's wedding on Jonas Peterson's website.

This overwhelming evidence of their love for each other, their love for others, & the love from others for them... .
It's just so palpable.

These photos are perfect.

These moments are perfect.
