#161 Exciting News: Part 1

So the first piece of super exciting news...

The current edition of Brides of Adelaide magazine arrived in newsagents this week...

Brides of Adelaide - On Sale New!

The cover is quite gorgeous don't you think?

I am also very much looking forward to the six page feature on a wedding with THE most handsome groom that ever was, the most stunning bridesmaids to walk the aisle in all of wedding history, the most exceptionally lovely gorgeous ring bearer in the world & the cutest, sweetest flower girls.... & I'm not at all biased?
I'm trying to be very patient as I wait for my copy to arrive in the post!

A huge thank you again to our marvelous photographer Karalee of Angelsmith Photography, who captured so many of memories of the best day of my life perfectly.
Also to Danielle at Brides of Adelaide for being so very lovely, Mr N & I feel very honoured to have had our wedding selected!

#159 Desert Buffets

Today I had some super dooper sweet news that I will share it with you sometime this week (yay!) , in the meantime I thought what better time than to do a super sweet post on desert buffet inspiration?!

Desert buffet's are yet another wonderfully fun way to incorporate personality into the day & depending on how you go about it, a big money saver too.
Also... desert is really yummy.
You probably shouldn't read this post unless you have just eaten, otherwise it could make you a bit hungry...

#150 Favour Bags

I did consider making these newspaper gift bags (Mr N & I met in a newsagents) using this tutorial from the fabulous How About Orange, cute & you're recycling too!
There are so many fantastic choices for favour boxes & bags. It's worth taking the time to find one that fits the feel of your wedding, as well as your budget, perfectly.
There are also a lot of gorgeous & simple diy options if there's a little room on your to do list?

Given my fondness for a rustic theme, the inclusion of jute bags is hardly suprising?

Calico is such a simple, pretty & versitile medium, especially for diy-ers...

I love the look of craft paper bags, especially when a little creative quirk is added.

The paper bags with the printed menu & the peg are my favourites, great concept & so effective!

#149 Cocktail Snacks

There are so many options for wedding cocktail snacks. They are such an effective touch that can be so easy & budget friendly to put together, not to mention fun!
I absolutely love the idea of having bags of fresh cherries, although it is worth remembering when making your decision that if you want fruit you need to think about what is in season.
We missed out on the end of cherry season by only a couple of weeks, I hoped we would squeeze in but after a lot of rain meant LOTS of damaged fruit & an early end to the season I ended up trying to find a backup plan quite belatedly. I couldn't source our second preference of fruit chips as apparently they stopped making them (extreme sadness!), & third preference of vegie chips was proving too costly for an inferior product. Thankfully it all came together well in the end but oh... look at those cherries!

#148 DIY Light Shades

Remember me? Finally back up & running after a ridiculous stretch of computer problems.
Whoever it is out there with a little voodoo collection consisting of the majority of my electrics?
Thanks for easing up.
I have certainly realised that a back up plan is required! In the meantime I will be keeping my fingers crossed that I've used up all my technological bad luck for a long long time...

Lets get back to the good stuff shall we!?

These fabulous rustic chic light shades are via a very easy to follow diy tutorial on Project Wedding.
Even though I didn't get around to making these before our wedding I will definitely still see they turn out & if I am happy with the result, hopefully I can convince one of my lovely brides to let me work them into their big day! I'm also interested to see how they could be adapted to be a candle/tea light candle holder.

Speaking of tea light candles, here's a few that would look gorgeous as decor for a rustic event or as features for an event with neutral tones.

I adore silver birch & actually, just any kind of birch really? It brings such a stunning aesthetic to both event decor & home interiors without being overbearing.

It's good to be back!
