#160 Two Pink & Gold Weddings

I love this pale pink, gold & champagne wedding inspiration shoot styled by Elissa Keno & Kellie Kano with photography also by Kellie, featured in Elizabeth Anne Designs & The Sweetest Occassions 'Inspired Creations Contest'.

The May Tree tradition is a fantastic inspiration that has worked so well, it's such a whimsical centrepiece.
I love the glittery gold Nine West heels matched with all those soft, subdued & romantic tones & the floaty Pronovias gown & I am absolutely head over heels, butterflies in tummy in LOVE with that loft! Dreamy.

Also spied on Elizabeth Anne Designs, is this delicious ballet inspiration shoot for Project Wedding by Chelsea Fuss with Photography by Lisa Warninger.

The Elizabeth Dye Gown was coloured to a perfect pink & i suspect you can never really go wrong with peonies...
The op-shopped decor is fabulous & yet again I demonstrate my weakness for birch!

#159 Desert Buffets

Today I had some super dooper sweet news that I will share it with you sometime this week (yay!) , in the meantime I thought what better time than to do a super sweet post on desert buffet inspiration?!

Desert buffet's are yet another wonderfully fun way to incorporate personality into the day & depending on how you go about it, a big money saver too.
Also... desert is really yummy.
You probably shouldn't read this post unless you have just eaten, otherwise it could make you a bit hungry...

#148 DIY Light Shades

Remember me? Finally back up & running after a ridiculous stretch of computer problems.
Whoever it is out there with a little voodoo collection consisting of the majority of my electrics?
Thanks for easing up.
I have certainly realised that a back up plan is required! In the meantime I will be keeping my fingers crossed that I've used up all my technological bad luck for a long long time...

Lets get back to the good stuff shall we!?

These fabulous rustic chic light shades are via a very easy to follow diy tutorial on Project Wedding.
Even though I didn't get around to making these before our wedding I will definitely still see they turn out & if I am happy with the result, hopefully I can convince one of my lovely brides to let me work them into their big day! I'm also interested to see how they could be adapted to be a candle/tea light candle holder.

Speaking of tea light candles, here's a few that would look gorgeous as decor for a rustic event or as features for an event with neutral tones.

I adore silver birch & actually, just any kind of birch really? It brings such a stunning aesthetic to both event decor & home interiors without being overbearing.

It's good to be back!

#146 Porcelain Fortune Cookies

A bit of fortune cookie & chopstick action went down at our wedding. I will eventually share more of those details someday soon but I'm waiting on some exciting happenings first.
In the meantime, how deliciously gorgeous are these porcelain fortune cookies from Yoga Goat!

Lovely decorations & brilliant favour inspiration.
How cute is the tree decoration cookie idea? I love the matte finish & while I still like the gloss finish as pictured for the chopstick rests (chopsticks via pacific merchantile) I would much prefer the matte finish on those as well. There's something about white matte porcelain that just gets me, every single time.
Each one is hand sculpted & arrives packaged in a mini chinese takeout box. They are very durable & can even be washed in the dishwasher if they get a little dusty over time.

Even though clearly I came across these a little late to use for our wedding, I'm definitely keen to have some simply as home decor &/or tree decorations!

#138 Centrepieces - Flowers in Vintage Bottles

I think I've mentioned before that when I was growing up, our house backed on to state forest, during the gold rush is was a very busy area & the forest was filled with old mine shafts as well as things (mostly 'rubbish') left behind by the miners.
Among these discarded objects the most common things to find where old cans & bottles.
It was rubbish really, but it fascinated me. Mostly because it was such a tangible reminder of those people that came in such numbers, chasing a dream.
As a child there was something very surreal & magical feeling about the traces they left.

I still love vintage bottles & I adore vintage bottles used as vases, especially as centrepieces.
Here's a few pretty-full examples!

I think there's something especially lovely & elegant looking about the simplicity of using only white blooms.
Gorgeous as home decor as well obviously!
